EBSCO is the provider through which you access such databases as CINAHL, Health Source, and Alt-Health Watch.

The updated version includes all of the search features you are used to, plus some new ones. Some new features include: a complete overhaul of Visual Search, a simplified Basic Search screen, and a pop-out window when choosing preferences. There are far too many to mention in this post, so we encourage you to play around in the new interface and see the changes for yourself.

These small changes are being made in anticipation of a planned cutover to CMS (Content Management Software) for the whole UIC Library website. This larger change will likely occur before the end of 2008. In the meantime, we hope you find these smaller adjustments beneficial.

(Please note the version you will see in the link above is not fully functioning.)

There are two main changes:

1. The blue and white “Main Menu Bar” you find near the top of all our pages will be replaced by a series of drop-down menus. These items lead you to a number of LHSU services as well as some popular resources.

2. The organization of our “home” page has changed so that the content links are grouped a little differently.

We plan to implement these changes on the morning of Monday, April 7. During that morning you may experience some technical difficulties with some of our pages as we update them. We appreciate your patience during this time.

*** Skulls are LIBRARY USE ONLY (no exceptions).

*** They circulate for NINETY MINUTES and can be renewed.

*** Medical Students must leave their I-Cards (and there’s a check out limit of one skull per I-Card).

*** Skulls must be turned in TWENTY minutes before closing.
