Library remains open during snowstorm

The Richard J. Daley Library, The Library of the Health Sciences (Chicago) and the Science Library will keep regular hours for Tuesday February 13, 2007.

Blog Server Down

At around 16:10 on December 3rd access to the blog server rivendell was not possible any more. We did a reboot of the server at 16:55, the server was back online at 17:05.
Unfortunately, the reboot revealed severe file and database corruption. We are working on salvaging both and moving the server to newer equipment.

UIC celebrates GIS Day 2006 on Friday, November 17, 2006. The event is open to the UIC students, faculty, and staff. No registration is necessary.
GIS Day is a grassroots event that formalizes the practice of geographic information systems (GIS) users and vendors of opening their doors to schools, businesses, and the general public.

UIC Library Preserves Chicago Urban League Papers with $100,000 Save America’s Treasures Grant

Records of the Chicago Urban League will be preserved and housed at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Richard J. Daley Library under terms of a two-year, $100,000 grant from Save America’s Treasures, a federal program administered by the National Park Service.
