Google. Yeah. Me, too. A quick Google search for “health news” turns up over 270 million results.
What’s that? You like that ‘other’ search engine. Okay, the same search in Yahoo! spits out a mere 4 billion links. Yes. 4 Billion.
Choosing an up-to-date health news source from the millions (or billions) of websites out there can be difficult at best and what drives you toward your very own padded room at the local nut barn at worst. (I know. It’s an exaggeration. We’re licensed to exaggerate when blog-writing. Not license 007, of course, that’s something entirely different. 002.675 I believe it is. Anyway, I digress.)
So, where do you go to catch up on the latest health news gossip? There are a lot of decent websites out there that fit the bill. Here are some of my favs in no particular order:
- Yahoo! News Health Section
- Yahoo! Health
- CNN Health News
- The New York Times Health News
- MedlinePlus News
- HealthDay
- Medical News Today
- WebMD Health News
- U.S. News & World Report Health News
- healthfinder.gov
- Reuters Health and Fitness News
- BBC News Health section
- MSN Health & Fitness News
Have a “health news” website that you particularly lean toward that’s not on my short list? Send me an email and I’ll post it in a follow up. rraffer2(at)uic(dot)edu
