The National Library of Medicine’s has redesigned and updated the PubMed Tutorial. It includes updates of changes to PubMed through October 2008, including the My NCBI redesign released in September. The tutorial has more information about what is in PubMed and MeSH (medical subject headings.)

All UIC users with Essential Evidence Plus on their PDA who have not registered since last year, must re-register by next week. Five University of Illinois at Chicago students won an international competition for a short video illustrating how online open-access publishing can spur innovation.
UIC Honors College students Danaya Panya, Jaymeni Patel, Sebastian

The Medical Letter is now available online through the UIC library catalog or the electronic journals list. The online subscription begins at 1988. The Medical Letter gateway also has a link to Adverse Drug Interactions, which allows users to select up to 12 drugs and generate a report about potential adverse interactions. The Handbook [...]

Content from Pre-CINAHL has been moved into CINAHL. Pre-CINAHL is a separate database which provides current awareness of new journal articles before they were given subject headings. On March 31st, Pre-CINAHL will be discontinued as a stand-alone product.
