Virtual Seminars on RefWorks

Three virtual seminars on RefWorks are being offered on the following dates:

  • January 14th 4pm-5pm
  • February 11th 4pm-5pm
  • March 11th 4pm-5pm

Here are instructions on what you will need to attend the course, steps on registering, and when you can attend.

What You Need to Attend the Seminar

  • PC Or Mac with Internet Explorer or Mozilla
  • Speakers or headphones are required; a microphone is helpful (in case you need to ask a question) but you may also type any questions or comments you have
  • A miniumum of a 56K modem should work
  • All seminars will be held in the ACCC E-room
  • You need to have set up an ACCC e-rooms account
  • If you have not used an ACCC e-room yet, you will need to get an account http://e-rooms.uic.edu/ (For more information see Getting an Account and Getting Started)

Registering for a Virtual Seminar

  • You need to Register for the Virtual Seminar(s) by enrolling in the class in ACCC E-rooms (see above for setting up an account).
  • To enroll in a class – go to http://e-rooms.uic.edu/ and login. Once in, click on Enrollment. Click on the “Library” folder from the Root Event Group List. Click on “enroll’ next to the seminar(s) that you wish to attend. Doing this will register you in the class.
  • A reminder will be sent close to the date of the class reminding you that you registered. Please un-register yourself if you realize you will not longer be able to attend.

When to Attend the Virtual Seminar

When it is time to attend a seminar (about 5 minutes prior to the start time) – go to http://e-rooms.uic.edu/ and login. Once in, click on my schedule (if you are not put there automatically). Click on “attend” next to the seminar that is about to be held.
