Academic.edu is a free networking website for faculty and grad students. Its goal is to have academics from all over the world on this website. So far, over 20,000 people have joined.
Connections are displayed in a tree format, starting with the university, department, faculty, and grad student. It allows the researchers to create their own websites where they can post their articles (published or not) or indicate their areas of interest.
