Alert: Database users beware problems connecting to catalog
As of today, the Library and its users are experiencing time-out errors when trying to go to the UICCAT catalog from within databases.
Most full text databases include a custom UIC Options button. Clicking this blue “UIC Options” button in a database automatically brings users to a customized UIC Options menu. When the menu says a journal article is not available electronically, the user normally may repeat the search to find print journals in UICCAT with another click. However, the links today have failed to connect with UICCAT. Please be aware of the problem and be ready to open UICCAT in a new window instead. To avoid timeouts, use this new URL, https://i-share.carli.illinois.edu/uic/ The UIC Options menus will be refreshed by tomorrow, restoring the lost functionality, so this workaround is only temporary.
