Library-News Mailing List Discontinued
A number of years ago, the Library set up a mailing list, Library-News@listserv.uic.edu to distribute news about the library via email. Faculty were encouraged to subscribe to Library-News to receive updates about the library and particularly about library collections.
No messages have been sent out on Library-News for more than a year, as the Library moved to using a live column called Library News located on the library’s home page to communicate with users. As a result, our mailing list for Library-News will officially be discontinued.
You can keep current by going to the Library home page and reading the Library News column or clicking on a category of information about a specific aspect of the Library. If you would like to have Library News delivered at your desktop, you can set up an RSS feed following the instructions below.
- Starting from the left side on the Library home page, click on Read the news archives.
- To have all topics of news delivered choose
Subscribe to this Blog.
- Or choose from a list of single categories such as
Collections or
Library of Health Sciences (LHS) to receive only selected news. - Select from a list of RSS news readers according to your personal preference. If you need to install an RSS reader, you may choose one from the displayed list of compatible, free software applications.
Most browsers, including Firefox, which is recommended, come with built-in RSS feeders. Firefox refers to RSS as its “live bookmarks.” Other browsers have similar features.
