The library has acquired several new Playaway titles. Playaways are self-contained audio books that can be checked out for three weeks. Listen to a Playaway audio book while driving, exercising, or just relaxing! Playaway ebooks have a universal headphone jack that will accommodate most headphones, earbuds or portable speakers. In honor of the 2007 Race for the Cure, the library is showcasing the LHS Peoria Komen Breast Cancer Collection. Through a long-standing relationship with the Peoria Memorial Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, LHS Peoria has developed a unique collection of breast cancer resources in support of area physicians, researchers and patients. [...]
AccessScience is now available to provide UIC users with access to all the articles, fully illustrated, from the latest edition of the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology. In print, this encyclopedia has 20 volumes; the online encyclopedia also includes frequent updates and supplemental data.

Sandy De Groote, Assistant Health Sciences Librarian (Peoria), has been accepted into the Program Track of the Illinois Immersion program. This is a week-long course provided by the ACRL’s Institute for Information Literacy.
