Eldredge Explains Meeting Point of Evidence-Based Medicine and Evidence-Based Librarianship November 10

Jonathan Eldredge, Library Knowledge Consultant at the University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center http://hsc.unm.edu/library/, presents a symposium on evidence-based librarianship, sponsored by the UIC Library’s Lectures and Forums Committee. The symposium will take place on Friday, November 10, from 1:00 pm 3:00 pm in Room 109, of the School of Public Health, 1603 W.Taylor.

Dr. Eldredge has taught the Evidence-Based Librarianship (EBL) continuing education course for the Medical Library Association (MLA) http://www.mlahq.org/ numerous times since he created it in 1998. He is Past Chair of the MLA Research Section and Chair of the MLA Evidence-based Librarianship Implementation Committee (EBLIC).

Dr. Eldredge has written more than 40 publications on collection development, problem-based learning, editorial peer review, governmental relations, and library promotion. Currently, he is an Associate Editor of Biomedical Digital Libraries http://www.bio-diglib.com/home/. He served as journal review editor for the Journal of the American Medical Association from 1994-1999. He received the 1999 Louise Darling Medal for Distinguished Achievement in Collection Development in the Health Sciences http://www.mlanet.org/awards/honors/darling.html. Dr.Eldredge received his BA from Beloit College http://www.beloit.edu/, his MLS from the University of Michigan http://umich.edu/ and his PhD from the University of New Mexico http://www.unm.edu/.
